Roughly two weeks after signing with the A's, left-handed pitcher A.J. Puk made his pro debut Tuesday night.
the No. 6 overall pick out of Florida pitched two scoreless innings for the Vermont Lake Monsters, the A's Class Short A affiliate in the New York-Penn league.
Puk needed 17 pitches to get through the two innings against the Auburn Doubledays.
The first batter Puk faced reached on an error. After a fielder's choice, Puk induced a double play to get out of the inning.
In the second inning, Puk recorded all three outs on ground balls.
