TORONTO -- For the second straight night, the Athletics have lost their starter to an injury early.
Brett Anderson came out to warm up for the second inning in Toronto and was in noticeable discomfort on the mound as he continued to rotate his arm and shoulder. As Anderson walked past manager Bob Melvin, he appeared to motion to his left shoulder.
Josh Lucas, who was recalled earlier Friday, took over for the A's to start the second inning.
In Thursday's series opener against the Blue Jays, Andrew Triggs left in the third inning and was later placed on the 10-day disabled list with forearm nerve irritation.
