In his second game as a big leaguer, former A's first round pick Addison Russell collected the first hit of his career in the Cubs' 4-3 loss to the Pirates on Wednesday night.
With the bases empty and one out in the top of the third inning, Russell lined a single to center field off of Pirates starter Vance Worley.
The Cubs second baseman finished the game 1 for 4.
Russell went 0 for 5 with three strikeouts in his Major League debut on Tuesday.
The prized prospect switched from shortstop to second base in the minors last week and the Cubs summoned the 21-year-old Monday night.
