#2: Dallas Braden throws a perfecto!
Much like moment number 4, Dallas Braden's perfecto represents the fact that some of the best moments can happen when you least expect them. And by when you least expect them I really mean when everything else is mildly terrible.
The A's actually weren't terrible on Mother's Day in 2010, the fateful day Dallas threw his Perfect Game. In spite of being managed by Bob Geren and his relentless ineptitude, the A's were only a single game out of first place. The A's ended the season at .500, a weird season where Daric Barton was a 5 win player and people clamored for Jake Fox at bats.
