Lockers are starting to clear. The 31 Oakland A’s on the 40-man roster that remain in big league camp have a little extra room in their Hohokam Stadium clubhouse to kick up their feet.
Dwindling names and disappearing faces means the opening day roster is slowly beginning to sort itself out. The mysteries have been well documented — the race for second base will come down to spring training’s wire. So will the race to be Sean Murphy’s backup catcher.
