The Notre Dame Fighting Irish won't be playing in the College Football Playoff this season and probably won't be in a New Year's Six Bowl, but they'll still be in a solid bowl game. There's still a wide variety of options for them, but virtually all will be in the days leading up to New Year's Eve. So, where can they expect to play? Here are the 3 most likely bowl games for Notre Dame this year.
Citrus Bowl (SEC vs. ACC/Big Ten)
Mon., Jan. 1, 1:00 p.m. ET
Camping World Stadium, Orlando, FL
This is the most likely destination for the Irish, taking the ACC/Big Ten spot and facing a quality SEC team, which would certainly appeal to both Notre Dame players and the fan base. LSU seems destined to go to the Citrus bowl from the SEC, making this one of bowl season's marquee matchups.
Camping World Bowl (ACC vs. Big 12)
Thurs., Dec. 28, 5:15 p.m. ET
Camping World Stadium, Orlando, FL
This is the least prestigious of the bowl options on this list for Notre Dame, but they'd still face a quality opponent (likely Oklahoma State, Iowa State, or Texas) that would make for a great matchup. Irish fans certainly wouldn't mind a trip to Orlando, either.

Captial One Orange Bowl (ACC vs. Big Ten/SEC/Notre Dame)
Sat., Dec. 30, 8:00 p.m. ET
Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, FL
This is the least likely option for the Irish, but if everything falls exactly the right way with the conference championship games this weekend, there's a chance the Irish could sneak into a New Year's Six bowl. And, if they do, the Orange Bowl has a slot set aside for them. They could see a game against Clemson if they to Miami in the ACC Championship Game or they could another at-large team like Alabama.
