The Notre Dame Fighting Irish haven’t done much since a first-quarter-and-a-half explosion. But they’re back on the board thanks to two running backs making their mark in starter Josh Adams’ absence.
Junior running back Dexter Williams ripped off a 40 yard run before redshirt freshman Tony Jones Jr. barreled in from seven yards out to extend the Irish’s lead to 35-10 over the Temple Owls right before the start of the fourth quarter.
The drive almost died on the Irish’s own 32 when officials initially ruled Jones had fumbled after a six yard run.
