Earlier this year, many of us raised an interesting eyebrow when we found out that Vinny Freeman was being recruited by the Michigan Wolverines... for wrestling. Vinny, of course, is the son of Notre Dame football coach Marcus Freeman — who is also former Ohio State linebacker Marcus Freeman.
Michigan? Blasphemy!
Well, we don’t have to worry about that anymore. On Wednesday, Vinny announced that he has committed to wrestle at Cornell. For Vinny’s mother and father, the end of a hard fought path to gain access to an Ivy League education is likely one of those parenting moments of joy that’s hard to explain.
