Baseball season is at our fingertips as Major League Baseball’s opening day is less than a week away. It appears Irish baseball will have a handful of it’s alumni on opening day rosters. Jeff Samardzija, A.J. Pollack, John Axford, Jeff Manship and David Phelps will all break camp with their respective clubs. Former Irish sluggers Eric Jagielo and Trey Mancini will begin the season in the minors, but could possibly see time in the big leagues this season.
While the Notre Dame baseball might not have the storied tradition and history as some of the big time baseball schools, they still have a little history of their own.
