Of course I was going to throw back to the 1991 matchup between Notre Dame and Indiana as we look forward to the same showdown this Friday in the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff. Back in ‘91, it had been 33 long years since the Irish and Hoosiers last faced off on the gridiron, and the anticipation was palpable. Notre Dame entered the season opener under heavy scrutiny, but when the dust settled on that sweltering September afternoon, the Irish left no doubt about their dominance.
