Smythe on injury: ‘I’m this team’s biggest cheeleader’

It was reported on Tuesday that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish had lost their third offensive starter for the season after tight end Durham Smythe went down with ankle and shoulder injuries. He is not going to let this deter him, however, as he is claiming that he will obviously stick behind this team to the very end.

Smythe posted a pretty cool photo on Instagram claiming that he was going to be his team’s “biggest cheerleader” from here on out. That works both literally and figuratively for Smythe as he is six-foot-five, 245 pounds.

It’s going to be rough for the Irish without one of their best receivers on the field, but they will be comfortable knowing that Smythe is going to be on the sidelines cheering them on.
