The Notre Dame Fighting Irish men’s basketball team got back to .500 today, earning the program’s first-ever win at Rupp Arena with a 64 to 63 win over the Kentucky Wildcats.
Kentucky appears to be a bit down from their typical level of play, as the loss to the Irish pushes their record to 1-4 on the season. But for an Irish team whose only win until now came against Detroit Mercy, this was a nice, small momentum-shifter for the season — especially after the Irish crumbled down the stretch of a very winnable game against #22 Ohio State last week, and almost did so again in this one.
