The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and UConn Huskies are the best rivalry in the sport, and after all of the hype, there was a Final Four game to play in Tampa Bay.
The Irish got off to a slow start in the first half with both Arike Ogunbowale and Marina Mabrey really struggling from the field. After the first quarter, UConn held a 4 point lead — but then Jessica Shepard stepped and went on a monster 10 point run all by herself.
The Irish got a small lead, but when Brianna Turner was forced to sit down after her second foul, UConn took full advantage and drained a shot at the end of the half.
