Corey Robinson, a rising senior wide receiver, was elected Notre Dame’s student body president for the 2016-17 academic year, according to a tweet from a staff writer of the Observer, Notre Dame’s school newspaper.

Robinson and Rebecca Blais, his running mate, received the Observer’s endorsement before voting began Wednesday. The editorial board wrote:
Overall, we believe the Robinson-Blais ticket provides the most innovative and exciting approach to best serve Notre Dame students and act as an effective link between students and the University administration.
