Everett Golson is out at Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish’s quarterback told Brian Kelly this morning that he is transferring from the program.
Golson played two seasons in South Bend, Ind., leading the team to the national championship game in 2012 and throwing for 3,445 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2014. He split playing time with Malik Zaire as this past season went on, though, and wasn’t a lock to be the team’s starter this fall. So he opted to play elsewhere.
Golson is graduating, has one year of eligibility remaining and will be able to play immediately.
