The Notre Dame softball team has been blessed to have Deanna Gumpf as their head coach for almost two decades now. During that time, Gumpf and the Lady Irish have a plethora of accomplishments on their record.
They have been the Big East regular-season conference champions seven times(2002-2005, 2010, 2011, and 2013) and the Big East Conference tournament champions four times (2002, 2003, 2006, and 2009).
In addition to winning championships the Notre Dame softball coaching staff has been the NFCA Regional coaching staff of the year five times (2002, 2004, 2014, 2016, and 2017) and the Big East coaching staff of the year four times (2002, 2004, 2011, and 2013).
