About six months ago, top 100 wide receiver Deion Colzie decommitted from Notre Dame. This came during the initial COVID-19 shutdowns, when recruiting across the country was in flux. Then Notre Dame lost out on highly coveted five star running back Will Shipley, and suddenly a once promising class appeared to be falling apart.
Then cornerback Philip Riley committed, the same day as Shipley announced for Clemson, and that was seen as the silver lining to an otherwise bad couple of months.
Ironically, and in keeping with this crazy year, it is now Colzie who is the silver lining commitment after Riley decommitted last week.
