Notre Dame escaped the first-round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament by knocking off Marquette 15-9 in one of the most lopsided battles of the opening round. Now, they head to Hempstead, New York to take on Denver in a pivotal quarterfinal matchup.
The Fighting Irish couldn’t beat Denver in their regular season meeting, losing 11-10 in a close top tier battle. With the new found confidence and big win over Marquette, though, Notre Dame may be looking to knock off No. 5 Denver and send the Pioneers home early in 2017.
Behind goalie, Shane Doss, and sophomore midfielder, Brendon Gleason, the Fighting Irish head to their quarterfinal matchup as a potential underdog favorite.
