As I grew up on the North Shore of Chicago (shout out Evanston), Milwaukee was always an easy day trip for our family. And as that city shares Lake Michigan, I will note that it is underrated enclave that has a very loyal contingent of folks who call it home. With me now living in the western suburbs of Chicago, it was an easy drive on Sunday morning as I made a stop at my cousins’ house in Lake Forest (shout out Dan and Mary Brennan) before heading up the last hour to see our Fighting Irish take on the Marquette Golden Eagles.
