The 5th ranked Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team faced perhaps their most difficult challenge of the year when they faced the 7th ranked Maryland Terrapins in an away game this afternoon. The Irish would make it a competitive game against Maryland, but would ultimately fall short in the contest, losing by a score of 14-9.
The most glaring difference in the game was the number of shots taken by each team. Maryland outshot Notre Dame by a total of 64 to 31. Despite Maryland having more than twice the number of shots as the Irish, the Terrapins were only able to get 30 of those shots on goal, a testament to the strength of the Irish defense.
