While many Notre Dame fans weren’t too impressed with the Irish’s four point road victory over then #22 ranked Temple, the AP voters apparently were – or at least more impressed than Notre Dame fans. Following the narrow victory, the Irish moved up one spot, leap frogging equally unimpressive Stanford to improve to 8th.
Notre Dame entered the weekend ranked 9th with the Cardinal coming in at #8 but neither team was overly impressive in their road contests this weekend. The Irish needed another fourth quarter comeback from Deshone Kizer to take down previously undefeated Temple while Stanford was the fortunate recipient of a missed Washington State field goal as time expired to escape Pullman with a W over a 5-2 Cougars squad.
