Coming off a win on Friday night, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Hockey team was in action again Saturday in their series finale against the Lake Superior State Lakers. Notre Dame came out strong on offense, scoring six goals and coming away with the victory. It could have been more if not for some stellar saves from Lakers goaltender Roman Bengert.
First Period
Notre Dame controlled the game early and had several chances to take the lead but just couldn’t capitalize. Eventually a defensive breakdown from Notre Dame allowed Collin Saccoman an uncontested chance against Cale Morris, which he converted for the first goal of the game and a Lakers lead.
