The Notre Dame Fighting Irish hockey program saw their second incoming freshman taken in the 2020 NHL Draft today when the Colorado Avalanche selected forward Ryder Rolston in the fifth round, 139th overall. Rolston joins Landon Slaggert who was selected earlier in the day.
Rolston spent two years at the United States National Team Development Program from 2017-2019 before joining Waterloo of the USHL for the 2019-20 season. At Waterloo he put up 33 points in 42 games, including three game winning goals. He’ll fit right in with the Irish.
