Cam Burke was the hero as Irish take first game of the weekend in Michigan’s upper peninsula.
Following last week’s 2-1 victory on opening weekend against the Long Island Sharks, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish took the show on the road and to northern Michigan for a Friday evening matchup with the Michigan Tech Huskies at MacInnes Student Ice Arena.
First Period
Despite committing 3 penalties in the opening frame, Michigan Tech was able to keep Notre Dame off the scoreboard. Goalie Ryan Bischel, making his first start of the season for the Irish, saw only 6 shots in the first 20 minutes, as the Huskies spent most of the period on the penalty kill.
