The Notre Dame Fighting Irish took on the Michigan State Spartans Sunday at Compton Family Ice Arena to close out a two-game series. Following Saturday’s tie, but dealing with the same power play struggles as the previous night, the Irish fell to the Spartans 4-3 in overtime.
First Period
The Irish set the tone in a hurry with a goal from Graham Slaggert about a minute into the first period of play. However, the Spartans were quick to react with a tying but initially disputed score from Charlie Combs about two minutes later.
