The University of Notre Dame will pay $1.2 million to Central Michigan for the Chippewas to play a Sept. 16, 2023 game at Notre Dame Stadium, according to a game agreement acquired Monday by One Foot Down.
The contract will not be considered breached if the game is cancelled because of “an act of God; national emergency; natural disaster; epidemic or pandemic; federal, state or local governmental regulations; war; terrorism; civil unrest; or court order.” The agreement also says a game can be cancelled, among other reasons, for the “protection of public health including but not limited to a requirement to quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure insomuch that it makes the game impracticable to play.
