The Panthers traded away a starting tight end on Tuesday, clearing the way for former Notre Dame football star Tommy Tremble to move into a larger role.
The Notre Dame football team saw 14 players from last year’s team head to the NFL this offseason, including tight end Tommy Tremble. At the time he announced his decision to leave school for the pros, it was seen as quite a shock, as Tremble was not even the best option at tight end for the 2020 Irish.
That distinction belonged to Michael Mayer, who had a breakout season in Year 1 in South Bend, but it was not like Tremble did not make an impact.
