One of the things that makes college football better than the NFL is tradition. Some of the best college football traditions range from the touching of Howard’s Rock, to Nebraska’s balloon release, to the donning of Chief Osceola, to slapping the Play Like a Champion Today sign. The NFL really doesn’t have traditions like that.
The NFL also lacks the pageantry of college football. While a few teams like the Washington Redskins have a fight song, it’s not a universal tradition. There’s certainly nothing like the Ohio State marching band, the Notre Dame Victory March, or even UCF’s Zombie Nation.
