As we enter the summer prior to head coach Marcus Freeman’s third season as head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program, it would be irresponsible to not acknowledge that we’re all expecting something a little more special this year in comparison to his first two seasons at the helm.
We all know that the Irish will return the vast majority of one of the best defenses in the country, have brought in a top-flight offensive coordinator, keep adding new and exciting pieces at the offensive skill positions, have a weaker-than-normal schedule, and that the Playoff is also expanding to 12 teams this season.
