On Monday, Notre Dame football fans officially got the news that quarterback Sam Hartman had played his last game in an Irish, and will opt out of playing in the Sun Bowl against the Oregon State Beavers as he begins to prepare for the NFL Draft.
The former Wake Forest Demon Deacons star has his name etched in the NCAA record books for a number of different stats. He chose to transfer to Notre Dame to better prepare himself for the NFL, and to his credit, he has been all class at Notre Dame through some ups and downs during the 2023 season — which includes an offensive coordinator change from Tommy Rees to Gerad Parker a month after he committed.
