The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are down a player in the secondary now with the news that sophomore safety Derrik Allen will transfer to another school.
Allen was a 4-Star player when he came out of high school in Georgia, and many were excited about the possibilities he brought with him to the secondary. As a freshman in 2018, Allen’s larger size forced the question if he would ever play safety for Notre Dame — or would he become a linebacker?
Allen was right in the thick of it this spring, and he had a nice Blue-Gold Spring game for the Irish.
