Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Irish Add OT Quinn Murphy As A Preferred Walk-On

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish added another piece of their 2019 recruiting class with the commitment of offensive tackle, Quinn Murphy.

Murphy, a 6’6” 310 pound offensive tackle from the rebellious state of Massachusetts, had been committed to the Princeton Tigers since August. Most of his offers were from the Ivy League — so he’s probably a smart guy.

While this commitment won’t break the bank in terms of star rating, Notre Dame’s prefered walk-on program is becoming increasingly important to the football team. Notre Dame is at a disadvantage compared to large state universities when it comes to getting a large quantity of quality walk-on’s to help the team (particularly on scout teams).
