Notre Dame football will travel to Louisville on Sept. 2 to take on the Cardinals in the season opener for both teams. The Irish always get the opponent’s best shot — that’s part of being a team with the historical prestige of Notre Dame.
In addition to Louisville’s best shot, Notre Dame will also be “blacked out.” It appears that the good folks at Louisville have decided that the home opener against the Irish will be a “Blackout” game. That means the Cardinals will be wearing black on the field, and their fans will be wearing black in the stands.
