D.J. Morgan announced Monday that he will use his final two years of eligibility to play for the Connecticut Huskies after an anticipated graduation this spring from Notre Dame.
The former Notre Dame Fighting Irish linebacker is hitting the reset button after playing just seven defensive snaps in three seasons.
Morgan would have entered the spring buried on a depth chart behind Jordan Genmark Heath and Shayne Simon, fighting for looks with Jack Lamb and incoming freshman Osita Ekwonu. Now he joins a Huskies linebacker corps that has lost one to graduation and two to defection, according to the Hartford Courant.
