For years, Urban Meyer has been linked to the Notre Dame football head coaching job. After coaching the Notre Dame wide receivers from 1996 to 2000, Meyer mentioned the Notre Dame job as his “dream job” in interviews. Ever since, Notre Dame fans have daydreamed about having Meyer as the head coach who brings the Irish to the top of the college football world.
Meyer “retired” from coaching after Ohio State’s Rose Bowl win in January and has since taken a job in broadcasting for Fox. Meyer has said that he doesn’t think he will coach again, citing health concerns and the stress caused by being a college head coach.
