Notre Dame Football: Can Josh Adams compete for the Heisman?

Yes.

Josh Adams may be the most undervalued player in the NCAA. For the last two years, he could’ve easily been a 1,000-yard runner, but because of a pass-heavy offense, he barely missed the mark last season as the Irish’s premier back.

Now, he heads to 2017 with a loaded backfield of Tony Jones Jr., himself, and Dexter Williams. As the veteran leader with a new starting quarterback in Brandon Wimbush and a new offensive coordinator, Chip Long, Adams will see a massive increase in attempts this season.

While he will now split carries with a crowded backfield, he’s going to get more attempts than last season.
