The Notre Dame Fighting Irish finished the 2018 regular season with a gritty 24-17 win over the USC Trojans. The win keeps the Jeweled Shillelagh in South Bend, and more importantly, it solidifies Notre Dame’s position in the college football playoff hunt.
Notre Dame earned this win as Southern Cal did what most of us didn’t think they would do — the Trojans showed up to play. The Irish quickly fell behind 10-0 to USC, which was the first time all season Notre Dame was down by two scores in a game.
