The Irish have overcome the odds once again beating the Yellow Jackets 30-22. All week, Notre Dame was deemed as the underdogs heading into the game. A lot of it had to do with Malik Zaire’s injury and some of it had to do with the fact that Georgia Tech put up over 60 points two straight weeks.
Georgia Tech’s high-powered option offense didn’t look anything like it usually does. They rushed for 216 yards, which is over 200 yards under what they average, and threw for just 121 yards. Notre Dame set the edge limiting the Yellow Jackets’ lanes and forcing them to run up the middle.
