Notre Dame sits atop the women’s college basketball mountain, after defeating No. 1 seeds UConn and Mississippi State en route to a National Championship.
Fighting Irish guard Arike Ogunbowale hit the biggest shots in both games – first a jumper in overtime to defeat the Huskies and next a leaning 3-pointer with just one tenth of a second remaining over the Bulldogs.
The second shot capped off a huge Notre Dame comeback. After scoring just three points in the second quarter, the Fighting Irish stormed back to score 44 second-half points against Mississippi State.
Now, it’s time for Notre Dame fans to celebrate.
