After losing Jewell Loyd to the WNBA, the Notre Dame women’s basketball team got some good news. Madison Cable was approved by the University Faculty Board on Athletics for her fifth year of eligibility. Cable had missed her entire freshman season due to stress features in both feet.
Last season, Cable was considered the toughest player on the roster, right behind Loyd. The Irish will need that toughness as coach Muffet McGraw has said she wants to see this team be a little less “nice” on the floor. It was Cable’s rebound and putback in the Final Four that gave the Irish the chance to play in the National Championship game.
