Former Notre Dame basketball standout Jerian Grant was one of 19 former college and international players to be invited to the draft’s green room at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. for the NBA Draft. He’s the first former Irish player to be invited since Troy Murphy in 2001 when he was drafted No. 14 overall by the Golden State Warriors. Coach Mike Brey is expected to join him at the draft.
Grant will likely be the only first-round selection for the Irish, but former teammate Pat Connaughton shouldn’t be far behind, as he’s forecasted as a second-round selection.
