Notre Dame baseball has had a ridiculously tough year inside ACC play. With only two ACC wins under their belt, Notre Dame is desperately trying to climb out of the basement of the conference — which got a lot harder Friday in a 13-0 loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Notre Dame fell victim to the new ACC run rule that was implemented in January this year.
A 10-run rule will be in effect after the seventh inning of all ACC games. The rule stipulates that the game shall be stopped after seven innings if one team is ahead by at least 10 runs run in accordance with NCAA playing rules.
