Measuring the exact impact a television network made on a football program this season will forever remain more guesswork than any real-data analysis.
But given the feedback from the Notre Dame coaches last week when discussing Showtime’s “A Season With Notre Dame Football,” the all-access television documentary served every purpose it was intended to, and then some.
The weekly production was never designed to persuade any of its viewers into becoming Notre Dame fans. Instead, it was meant to provide a glimpse into the emotions and tireless work the Irish coaches and players face during a football season, all the way from fall training camp thru the bowl game.
