Morning Agenda: Bad Behavior in Finance Persists, Study Says

BAD BEHAVIOR IN FINANCE PERSISTS, STUDY SAYS | In some ways, Wall Street has cleaned up its act after the 2008 financial crisis, with firms carrying much less risk and banks increasing their capital requirements. Yet the ethos of the finance industry remains worrisome, according to a new study, Andrew Ross Sorkin writes in the DealBook column.

Two years ago, Mr. Sorkin wrote about a study on Wall Street ethics by the law firm Labaton Sucharow, which often represents whistle-blowers in the finance industry. That study raised alarms about finance industry insiders’ lax attitudes toward wrongdoing.
