Notre Dame’s campus police department records are not public a St. Joseph County judge ruled this week, according to Jeff Parrott of the South Bend Tribune.
ESPN, the entity which filed the lawsuit, can still press further and appeal the ruling. However, that decision has not yet been made, Parrott reports. Despite his ruling, the judge did share "discomfort" in the fact that Notre Dame could exercise policing powers without sharing related records with the public, according to the report.
"Perhaps this will cause the Indiana Legislature to consider this important matter," Superior Court Judge Steven Hostetler wrote, according to Parrott.
