Irish Round Out Staff With One of Their Own

Last week reports came out that former Notre Dame guard Ryan Ayers would be returning to the basketball program as an assistant coach. This report comes out after Notre Dame hired former star forward Ryan Humphrey to the same position.

Ayers played for the Irish from 2005-2009, seeing most of his action in his junior and senior seasons. As a senior Ayers was named the team’s best defensive player. For his career Ayers averaged 6.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. His senior season was his best as he averaged 11.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.
