Irish March To Atlanta

`Mitch Jeter’s 41-yard field goal with eight seconds remaining gave Notre Dame a 27-24 victory over Penn State in a heart-stopping slugfest at the Orange Bowl. The Fighting Irish fought back from 10-0 and 24-17 deficits with their trademark grit and determinaton. Notre Dame earned the victory despite losing the turnover battle and surrendering over 200 yards on the ground. Quarterbacks Riley Leonard and Steve Angeli outplayed PSU’s Drew Allar, however, passing for 267 yards against Allar’s 135.

This was the 13th consecutive win of the season and 14th overall for the Irish. More importantly, it earned them a spot in the national championship game on January 20 in Atlanta.
