The best rivalry in women’s college basketball resumes again Saturday when No. 3 Notre Dame (7-0) travels to Storrs to take on the top-ranked and two-time defending national champion Connecticut Huskies (5-0).
Two undefeated teams, two top-five rankings, a rematch of the national title game from the last two seasons — the scene is all set for another classic matchup, right?
Well, probably not.
In a series that Connecticut is again starting to dominate with four straight wins over the Irish including both match-ups last year — the most notable being a 63-53 victory in the national championship game in April — Notre Dame head coach Muffet McGraw said Thursday that this is the best Husky team yet.
