The Notre Dame Fighting finally did the thing. After 31 years, the Irish won a New Year’s Six game by taking down the Georgia Bulldogs at the Sugar Bowl to advance in the College Football Playoff.
The Irish won 23-10 in a game that we all knew was going to be a rock fight — and they had the biggest rocks. Notre Dame will now move on to play the Penn State Nittany Lions in the semifinals at the Orange Bowl.
For a rock fight, however, there were a lot of great moments in the Sugar Bowl as the Irish proved that they are a real threat to win a national championship.
