The Notre Dame Fighting Irish did the thing they have been unable to do over the past 31 years. The Irish won a “Big Bowl” game. Nevermind that Notre Dame already has a college football playoff win under its belt — this one just means more. Notre Dame’s 23-10 win over the Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl ousted the SEC Champions, and almost every single demon that they have collected in those 31 years.
It was an amazing feat in what was a very SEC-like game. It was a defensive battle for sure, but it also highlighted Notre Dame’s toughness, and Marcus Freeman’s willingness to being a very aggressive head coach.
